About Us...

Fineline Window Dressings was founded by Carolyn Rushing. Her business began after years of experience in home decorating as a hobby and dreams of being an entrepreneur. Sewing in the home was a passion that started at the age of 12. She began by helping her mother layout patterns for dressmaking. Very quickly, she began understanding the pattern guidelines and began dressmaking for herself. Her passion to work with fine fabrics and create extraordinary designs continues today.

In Carolyn's previous professional career she worked as a trade show and project coordinator. Her position required enormous personal commitment and meticulous attention to detail. She worked closely with graphic design, engineering, drafting, manufacturing, and installation professionals.

Carolyn has completed three Career Professional Programs at the Custom Home Furnishings School in Charlotte, NC. She is a member of the Window Coverings Association of America (WCAA), the Drapery & Design Professional Network, and the Greater Charlotte Workroom Association (GCWA).

Larry holds an apprenticeship in machining and is instrumental in measuring, in-house fabrication, and installation. He is an experienced tool and die maker and his previous professional career taught him firsthand the importance of measurements and accurate fitting.

Fineline Window Dressings follows some of the same principles and guidelines that were learned in previous careers. We realize that providing superior products, giving excellent customer service, personal commitment, and punctuality make the difference between ordinary and extraordinary.
